Tolga Kabataş, the founder of gittigidiyor.com, stepped into the real estate sector with Omurga Capital Partners. Kabataş is also currently working on a giant project with his renowned elder “brothers” in the banking and telecommunication sectors.
“There are some ongoing investments in the food and beverage sector, but I’m not as ambitious in this field as I used to be,” said Kabataş. “Along with restrictions of trade, it was an extension of a hyperactive tendency within us to keep busy. However, these experiences have inspired me immensely for the new projects I’ll be working on in technology. Everything we do in life leads to something else. I started out in the food and beverage sector, and took what I learned and witnessed to now go and do something completely different in technology. It’s related to e-commerce, but it has a social side to it. Let me put it this way: Turkey doesn’t have a unicorn. A unicorn refers to a technological company with a value of over a billion dollars which is not open to the public. A global unicorn will be born in a country like Turkey. We are going to build a social channel that is close to Instagram, but closer to the values and culture of our country. Here we will combine e-commerce with the effects of social interaction on our lives. Preparations are almost complete, and if everything goes well, it will go live this Fall.”
